Molly Brandenberger
As a Co-founder of Oh Gross!, Molly is all about making life's messy moments a little easier to handle—and even more fun to talk about. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Molly shares a Midwest kinship (and a football rivalry! THE Ohio State University) with Kara. She first met Jennie in Atlanta during their time in the pop R&B group InTrygue, where they saw huge success opening up and touring with bands such as N’Sync.
Molly graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Public Relations. She has a vast background in marketing and events planning. Molly and Kara first met when Kara was launching her handbag line Solas Fashion, working with her to ensure successful promotions and red-carpet events in the Mid-Atlantic and South. Prior to becoming the Co-Owner of Lice Ladies, Molly worked in a variety of corporate positions including the news/traffic department of WNCI-FM radio, Events Manager at Arthur Andersen, and as the Conference Concierge at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC. Her extensive experience in public relations, marketing and event management has helped Lice Ladies expand and grow their franchise. Now, with Oh Gross! Molly is excited to create a space where everyone can openly talk about life's quirkiest challenges and think out of the box on how to manage icky moments.
Jennie Lasater
Jennie is a scientist and Co-founder of Oh Gross! and the brains behind Lice Ladies. She founded the company over 15 years ago to provide safe, non-toxic treatments for human head lice. Armed with a Master of Science in Biology from Brenau University, Jennie has made it her mission to help families deal with lice in a pesticide-resistant environment, even launching her own successful product line to treat lice at home safely. Jennie (along with her business partner Molly) expanded Lice Ladies into a franchised business in 2015 and continues to come up with new ideas to educate the public and eliminate misinformation surrounding head lice. Recently, Lice Ladies began working together with Kara and Motiv8 Media to create several viral video campaigns that openly discuss lice, remove stigmas and present the facts.
A proud Atlanta native, Jennie originally met Molly during their days in the pop R&B group InTrygue. When the group disbanded, Jennie kept the name InTrygue and went on as a solo artist reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song “Want Me”. Now, with Oh Gross!, Jennie hopes to continue to use her science background to break down the taboos around all "gross” things like bugs and create a community where we can all share, laugh, and learn from all critters.
Kara Kurcz
Co-founder of Oh Gross! and a longtime friend of Jennie and Molly, Kara is passionate about building a community where people feel supported to share their stories and find solutions. Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago and a University of Iowa alumni, Kara is a Midwestern girl at heart and a successful serial entrepreneur. She co-founded Solas Fashion, a boutique luxury handbag company, with designs that graced the pages of magazines and were worn by celebrities on the red carpet. Kara has appeared as an expert on several networks including MSNBC, Fox News, and E!.
She is also the founder of Motiv8 Media and a relentless force as an investigative producer. By 21, she was profiling stories that helped capture fugitives on America's Most Wanted. She's produced and/or created hit crime series like Mark of a Serial Killer and Violent Minds on Oxygen and A&E’s Live PD. She has also produced several medical shows including Chasing the Cure with Ann Curry on TBS and TNT. She even decided to further her expertise in the health space by pursuing a certification in Health Coaching after her husband Brian’s journey with colon cancer.
