Pubic Lice Proper Cleaning
Be sure to wash personal items like clothing, bedding, and towels in hot water and dry on high heat to avoid re-infestation. Surfaces can be sanitized with common household disinfectants. While pubic lice requires a prescription to be treated on the body, they are not pesticide-resistant like head lice. Therefore, household surfaces can be wiped down much more easily with proper sanitizing.
Tip: Machine wash and dry worn clothing and used bedding by the infested person in hot water (at least 130°F) laundry cycle and the high-heat drying cycle. Dry clean clothing and items that are not washable.
